What Kind of
Learner are YOU?
Do you like to build things with your hands, play on sports teams, or enjoy making pottery? Maybe you sing in a choir, enjoy creating rhythms and raps, or just love to listen to really loud music. Knowing yourself and how you personally feel wide awake and excited about life is a key to determining what kind of learner you are. Click here to discover your learning style.

Mother's Day is May 13th.

Penn Foster would like to acknowledge the hard work and discipline of our students and alumni who celebrate Mother’s Day.

“I enjoyed my program. Being the mother of three, it's hard to get out of the house alone. Online schooling was the only chance I had to get ahead. Because of my course, I received a new position and I'm getting paid more than I've ever been paid before. I absolutely love my new career.”

Tell Us Your Story

There is no one better qualified to encourage our students than someone who has personally experienced and met the challenges of distance learning. Many students need inspiration, motivation, and support just to enroll, as well as continue with and complete their studies. So, if you have a story and would be willing to share it with us, email your story to Jim.Healey@icslearn.ca or mail it to Jim Healey, C/O Thomson Education Direct, 925 Oak St., Scranton, PA 18515. We would love to
hear from you.

Now that spring is here, it’s time to start thinking about the landscaping of your yard and garden. Landscaping is about more than just making your yard look better. The right landscaping can increase the value of your home by 15%, allowing you to recoup 100 - 200% of your investment, according to the Association of Landscape Contractors of America.
With planning and a small investment, you can enjoy your outdoor living area and reap rewarding benefits. Good landscaping can increase the quality of life and give you hours of satisfaction. Whether it’s a bare lot for a new home or improving an existing yard, use your imagination and have fun.

Many of our current ICS Canada High School students are planning to continue their education after graduation. If you are a graduate of ICS Canada High School and have since enrolled in
a university or career school, please send along
the name and location of the institution to Jim.Healey@icslearn.ca. Your fellow students would appreciate your help!

Just as it is important to maintain a healthy body, it is equally important to keep your brain healthy. There are a number of things you can do that will help you to achieve and maintain a healthy brain including physical exercise, nutritious diet, reduction of stress, proper sleep, and exercises to improve brain power…mind games. There is a range of exercises you can use, from physical activities to puzzles.

The Franklin Institute Online* suggests the following to strengthen your brain: Use the hand you do not normally use to do everyday tasks like controlling a computer mouse, eating, brushing your teeth, dialing the phone, or operating the TV remote. Or, get dressed with your eyes closed, share a meal and use only visual cues to communicate, or go to work using a new route. You can also read or play scrabble or bingo.

There are many different types of puzzles including crossword, sudoku, logic, word scramble, jigsaw, cryptogram, hidden word, and more. Why not start exercising right now?
