Most desktop publishers work for newspaper, periodical, book, and directory publishers and often work full time, though depending on publication deadlines, may find themselves working over 40 hours per week.

Mixing creative and artistic expression with an impressive knowledge of code and design, Web Page Designers and Developers design and create websites for themselves and for their clients. They’re responsible for the look of the site, such as color scheme, layout, and site menu. Even more importantly, they’re responsible for the site’s technical aspects, as well. This could be things such as its performance and capacity, which are measures of a website’s speed and how much traffic it can handle.
  • Computer Support Technician. When a computer crashes, a software issues comes up, or there’s a glitch in your hardware, computer support technicians become the hero of the workplace. The most-used definition of a computer support technician would probably be something like “the person who fixes my computer when I spill my coffee on it,” but there’s more to it than that. Generally, a Computer Support Technician is there to fix user error and handle tasks like new hardware updates and software installation. Depending on the size of the company, a computer support technician will work in the IT department for and with other technology experts.
